Cheers for that Pete, couldn't find internet access on North Uist, by the time we got to Leverburgh on Harris off the ferry this morning, they told us the nearest (only internet service is at Tarbert, so we drove 17 miles along the single tracked road past Taransay (where they filmed that stupid show) to find the garage is in Leverburgh. So we will drive back through howling winds to see this fabled garage tomorrow. But we need to be on the Isle of Lewis, by Friday as they're having a PROCLAIMERS CONCERT. If I could DRIVE 500 miles more like. We've also heard Lewis has a Washing Machine so we're really excited. Pete is this website for our own private use now as it'd saved me a fortune in getting our own website www.vwclockworkorange.co.uk up and running?

[glow=red,2,300]vwclockworkorange is back[/glow]
yep folks we have driven back from Malta and made it back to Somerset on Christmas Day. In Malta mid December, we drove through Sicilly in a petrol shortage, got a ferry that was detained by striking truck drivers from Palermo (Sicilly) to Genoa (Northern Italy) drove through to Monte Carlo parking up by the yacht club, then by Nimes our VW was broken into whilst we were in it. The B*$***$ took my wallet camera (2 weeks of images) and mobile phone). The French Police were very unexcited about the event and said "But of course it always happenz zer" well pardon us for staying at a Motorway services, how about you put some signs up warning law abiding citizens, or install a camera, or call me proactive a patrol out there. Anyway with much effort we got through France and money was eventually released to us after a compulsory 3-4hour French Red Tape procedure allowing me to have 2 hours of daylight driving a day, drive through the night without stopping as the rest areas are not safe, before our limited daily allowance of money ran out and we could start the whole procedure again. Anyway to top it all the VW blew a Con Rod in Tiverton and we were towed into Somerset (Thanks Uncle ROY) on Christmas Day.

[glow=red,2,300]We are here in the UK for at least 3 months (working repairing the VW etc) Morale is G O O D despite this 11th hour series of set backs and Wishing all you dubbers a SAFE and Enjoyable NEW YEAR[/glow] ttfn Mark & Sarah
